Since the early 90’s, the concept of entertainment changed throughout Bangladesh with the easy accessibility of cable networks. At that time television was the latest entertainment technology in Bangladesh. Through the folds of time, though many electronic gadgets and means of entertainment have evolved, yet, television stills retains a classic spot of mass entertainment. Therefore, many Bangladeshi people spend a handsome portion of their free time by watching cable television. Evidently, a substantial part of that experience credit goes to the cable connection which is now supplied in most part of the country. However, the standard of the cable connection is not up to the marks. Further, the monthly cable bill just surpasses the value of satisfaction from the service.

For example, the number of channels are limited till now, Dish antenna installation is required, transmission problem may arise in the rainy season and on top of that, service shuts down in case of delayed payment. In contrast, the cable networks try and ensure same transmission al year, no extra antenna is required and whenever there is a problem, one can always call the cable guy who fixes things immediately. Most interestingly, you can always afford to make late payments and need not worry about the connection being cut off instantly.
Though the controversies and debates continue, it is safe to say, that will all the digital transmissions and other fascinating features, DTH is indeed very attractive and appropriate for the present digital generation of Bangladeshis.
